Combat Flying never fails to steal the limelight in any demonstration. 2 pilots fly in the same circle, gaining points by cutting the streamer of the other opponent. Challenging the skills of the pilots to maneuver the plane and testing the eye power of the judges and the audience, this is definitely a physical sport. Feel the adrenaline rush as the planes cross paths!

The trick, as mentioned by many mentors and veterans, is to be accustomed to thinking the planes going clockwise and anti-clockwise motion. Personally I find this to be of great help because at such high speed, there simply isn't enough time for any other reactions.
Greatest Joy: The excitement, the noise, the streamers, and the victory
Pain: Crashes, Repairs, Breaking propellers, Condemn models

In this video below, it shows a combat bout between two pilots, up-close. Combat flying involves not only chasing the plane but also to match the hand movements of the other pilot. Watch how Hoe Mun (man in black) and Ali (blue) chase each other inside the circle. It involves a lot of calmness in the excitement to know when to attack and when to defend just like a real physical combat. Each cut in the streamer means 100 points, so the trick is to cut as little of the streamer at a time to be able to score more points. Each second your model is airborne, one point will also be awarded.
As you may have observed towards the last few seconds of the video, an entanglement may arise due to crashes of the plane. In such instances, if you happen to be the one still flying, just stay at your position and do figure 8s, while the other pilot helps to free the lines. (i panicked when i encountered it the very first time, and learnt an important lesson) Seems scary, but with proper knowledge on how to handle the situation, its pretty easy to get out of it.
